Nana's Beef Stew


2 lbs stew beef

1/4 cup flour

salt and pepper

3 tablespoons oil

1/2 onion thinly sliced

1 tablespoon salt

4 cups water

4 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered

8-10 carrots, peeled and cut in to 2 inch pieces.



Put flower,salt and peppers in container. Shake to combine. Add stew beef, shake to coat.

Brown meat in stock pot in 3 tablespoons of oil

Add onion and water. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2 hours

Add potatoes and carrots, cook until tender

To thicken.

Mix 3 tablespoons flour and 3 tablespoons butter together making a paste. Add to pot, bring to boil, simmer 10 minutes
