What is a CSA?
CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. It is a way for people to connect with farmers and the products they grow.
What is a meat CSA?
It is a predetermined monthly amount of meat commitment by the consumer who would like to eat healthy and local meat. Each consumer chooses how many months they would like to receive meat for (ie) 3 or 6 months. Then you choose how many pounds of meat you would like to receive -- 5lbs, 10lbs or 20lbs per month.
What is in a meat CSA?
Each month is a mix of varied cuts. This may include ground beef, stew beef, london broil, top round steak,sirloin steak, beef sausage,small roasts, pork chops, pork sausage and bacon. Sometimes a higher end cut.
Why join a meat CSA?
Would you like to know where your food is coming from? Who grew it? How it was grown? Then a meat CSA is right for you. Our cattle are humanely raised, and grass fed. They get plenty of sunshine and fresh water too. No hormones or antibiotics. Our meat goes directly from the farm to the butcher to you.
How do you get your meat share?
A preset pick-up site is chosen by you, the customer. You arrive at the site any time during the 1 1/2 hour distribution.
How does the meat come?
Our meats are pre-packaged and cryo vac sealed to retain freshness and quality. Cuts range from 1 pound to 1.5 pounds. Roasts range from 2 pounds to 3.5 pounds.
